Harrins history,

Harrins formed around 1910 and has seen many changes. The French Broad river was once a dumping ground for many people. We have been entrusted, from the beginning, to do our part in keeping this river clean. The company began with shovels, progressed to a dredge bucket, and now to vacuum system. The evolution of dredging has always had the end goal of keeping the river sustainable and clean. Harrins is now in the process of bringing the company into the 21st century with newer technology. We currently dredge the river weekly to ensure sustained cleanliness. We use the byproduct (river sand) for equestrian farms, poultry farms, stonework, restoration, etc. Our mission is to be a good neighbor and help keep Asheville clean.
